Popular VPN service ExpressVPN has been having difficulty connecting in China in recent days.

According to an update published by the company on Sunday, June 2, VPN connectivity has been “significantly impacted as a result of upcoming political events.”

Users in multiple Chinese cities have told us that their connection to Google (among other things) hasn’t been showing much life recently, while some users have noted that they’re able to connect on their phones but not on their computers. Some Astrill VPN users have also reported issues maintaining a stable connection on the Chinese mainland.
