Co-working giant WeWork is opening their first office in Shenzhen on September 1, a fact worth celebrating – and we're doing just that with a competition that's open to all locally-based artists until Thursday, August 23.
The winner will be celebrated at our party on Saturday, August 25, as well as rewarded with two weeks' free membership at WeWork's CCSS, extended exhibition of their work at creative hub Vinylhouse and an interview profile published in That's Shenzhen.
Intrigued? To enter, email a painting, photo or short film of 120 seconds or less that's inspired by the theme of 'working' to tomasz@guiddo.com. We're looking in particular for pieces that can embody an aspect of the city – whether it's 'Shenzhen speed,' entrepreneurial spirit or something else.
Judges include WeWork community manager Faye Gao, Vinylhouse co-founder Tomasz Guiddo and our very own That's Shenzhen and That's Guangzhou editor-in-chief, Matthew Bossons. The winner of the contest will be announced at the August 25 party hosted at Vinylhouse, and honored with free beer, cocktails and live DJ music.
Thanks to sponsors WeWork, Wolf Beer and Vinylhouse for making the contest and celebration possible.
Submission deadline: 11:59pm, Aug 23.
Award Party: 8pm, Aug 25; free entry. Vinylhouse. See event listing.
