May 16: The Mantis Project at Oil Club
Oil Club is opening up its exclusive doors for free with this techno party headlined by local musician Mantis. Hong Kong DJs Alan Pak and Sendi will also perform sets, plus all ladies get a free drink.

May 17-20: Tomorrow Festival
Every May since 2014 OCT-LOFT imagines the future with this non-mainstream music festival. Tomorrow Festival features experimental, rock, avant-garde, free jazz and world music, with Tea Rockers, KRAUTWERK, AOKI takamasa, Konono Nº1, Jun Togawa, Guo Yongzhang and GONG performing. Concerts take place each day at B10 Live, with an underground fanzine talk and screening of Here to Be Heard: The Story of the Slits at A3+ on May 19 and 20.

May 18: Masquerade Party at Terrace
Terrace is providing free masks for this themed party which also features a zumba show and contest, plus a chance to win two vouchers to a Hilton buffet. House band TAS performs at 10pm but come early to enjoy happy hour, which ends at 9.30pm.

May 18: Glow Party at Fade Bar
Stand out from the crowd with glowing body paint at this themed event. Ticket price includes access to an open bar (beer, wine, mixed drinks) plus beer pong and pool all night long. May 19: Mark & Neil's Birthday at Hard Rock Cafe
Rock out in the pool all afternoon then join the art jam downstairs in this celebration of two of Shenzhen's industrious rockers. Michael Flatley’s 1998 dance sensation broke box office records but wasn’t it missing something? Maybe time-travelling robots? Strange as it may sound, the Irish dance company’s sequel adds sci-fi elements to a timeless tale that’s earned praise from critics the world over. May 20: Hawaiian Themed Water Festival in Huizhou
The Huizhou Regal Palace Resort is holding a Hawaiian-themed festival by the beach this Sunday. Celebrate the summer heat by splashing others at 'water carnival,' then stay to watch tambourine, samba and hula performances, plus a live Filipino band. May 20: Minding the Digital – Curator's Tour
