If you're holing up in your apartment all week long, or visiting Shenzhen during the holiday, here are our picks for the best Chinese New Year feasts to celebrate the start of the Year of the Dog.

Compass Bar

Reward yourself for a year of hard work with a magnificent six-course feast at The Compass Bar by Curator. Parties of two, four, or six-plus start the new year with a flourish, with seared romanesco, truffle and mushroom soup, duck confit, goji berry linz pie and much more... Fubar Brewpub

After the fireworks die down, come out to enjoy delicious specials at this Shekou spot. For the rest of the month, your favorite brews are buy one get one free, so bring a friend, or just enjoy the new year's bounty for yourself.

NBeer Pub

Red envelopes are nice, but maybe a red giftbox of six delicious brews is even better. That's what NBeer Craft Brewing is betting on with this sweet deal on their award-winning sour beer. Brewed with coriander and salt, the citrus notes elevate this mature beer to a new level. Start your year with something new.

Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay

The beautiful seaside views of the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay are complimented by light and fresh Teochew cuisine, prepared in a special menu of traditional Chinese New Year favorites. Bring the whole family to celebrate over a cherry blossom-themed afternoon tea or a Reunion Dinner prepared by Chef Guo, a native of Teochew.

Sheraton Dameisha Resort
