September 12: Cantus Choir at Shenzhen Concert Hall

Originally started as a student singing group, Cantus has evolved into one of America’s best vocal ensembles while developing a tradition of fostering upcoming talent to create innovative shows that strive for audience engagement. Featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, Cantus will bring their unique vocal stylings to Shenzhen.

September 13-14: Swan Lake by the Russian State Ballet

This stately ballet troupe will grace Shenzhen with their technically impressive rendition of Swan Lake. The Russian Ballet is defined by clean and simple movements that manage to avoid robotic motions, and Swan Lake is the seminal Russian ballet performance.

September 14: TOY China Tour and Afterparty

English indie band TOY have a sound that falls somewhere between psychedelic rock, shoegaze and post-punk, earning them nods from both The Guardian and NME. On the Shenzhen stop of their China tour, they'll be playing two sets: an official concert at B10 Live (8.30pm), followed by an afterparty at the cushy new Hard Rock Cafe (11pm).

The September edition of this fan-favorite event will once again see residents share stories, in English, about deeply personal, sometimes revelatory experiences. Organizer Trey Hobbs on this month's theme: "We are going to be hearing stories about people taken out of their comfort zone and forced to adapt, evolve, change, and survive in their new circumstances."

September 15: Magma On Party at Dolores Park

Bionic bar Magma is bringing the party to Dolores Park with an international trio of DJs: Sam Lai, Nu White and Mayor Lucas. Partygoers can enjoy a mix of deep house and techno late into the night.

September 15: ChildHood Land Hip Hop Party at Dazzle Club

Reminisce about your younger years with a show by Hong Konger Al Rocco, who cut his teeth in Brooklyn and has since brought his singular rapping ability to Shanghai and the rest of the mainland. Rapper Blow Fever will also take to the stage, with marketing machine DJ Luce laying down beats.

September 15-October 15: Paris Reinvents Itself Exhibition

In a watery future, sea levels have risen, forcing Paris to adapt to the world of 2100. This fictional project looks at how Paris might respond in the future with Et Alors studio displaying 20 city maps showing how Paris would need to change.

September 16: TCM Tour of Nantou Ancient City

September 16: The Wynners 'Never Say Goodbye' Concert

Formed in 1973, The Wynners were originally an English-language Hong Kong singing group. Group members went their separate ways, with some going on to lay the early foundations for Cantopop. Never officially disbanded, The Wynners regularly hold reunion concerts.

September 17: The 13th 2017 Shenzhen International Coastal Cleanup Day

The 13th Coastal Cleanup Day welcomes people of all ages and nationalities who are interested in helping clean up Shenzhen's beaches. September 17: WWE Live China in Shenzhen

This wrestling extravaganza is coming to Shenzhen for the first time ever on September 17. The event marks WWE’s return to China following last year’s show at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. Fans will be able to see their favorite WWE stars including AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair.
