Are you a regular commuter between Shenzhen and Zhongshan? Then you’ll be happy to know that the long-awaited intercity ‘water buses,’ which will run between the two cities, officially launched today.
As part of the unveiling, for the first three days of operation, from August 18-20, ferry rides are free of charge when booked through the company’s website. Unfortunately, all the spots appear to have been scooped up already (bummer, we know).
The new route will cut commuting time between Zhongshan and Shenzhen to approximately 45 minutes and is being touted as a step towards improving connections between cities on both shores of the Pearl River estuary, according to GRT Radio.
Operated by Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passengers Shipping Company, the water bus will run daily at 9.30am, 12.10pm, 3.40pm and 6.30pm from Shenzhen Airport Fuyong Port; and 7.45am, 10.50am, 1.30pm and 5pm from Zhongshan Port.
