Trains on Shenzhen's subway Line 1 saw delays beginning around 9am this morning.
Official Weibo posts cited an equipment malfunction, but a customer service member told a reporter the delays were for 'rescue efforts.'
The latest official post says the subway was fixed at 9.20am and apologizes for the delay.
"I don't accept your apology. I was late on the first day of work, I'm really crushed," a netizen responded.
Shortly after 9am, commuters at the Luohu metro stop were left waiting in cars that didn't move for at least 15 minutes while an automated voice informed passengers that service had come to a temporary halt.
A notice on the Gaode Maps app noted that passengers who already paid for part of their fare can be reimbursed by going to any customer service station on lines 1, 2, 3, 5 and 11.
