Calling all PRD-based Canadians, from the old timers who arrived back when the Elephant & Castle was still serving pints, to the Johnny-come-latelies still adapting to the region’s sweltering heat – the PRD Canadian Network wants you!
Founded in 2016 by Adam and Rob Turnbull, Jenny MacDonald, Alexander von Kaldenberg, Omar Khan and Ilan Rosenberg, the network is a community helping to support Canadian professionals in the Pearl River Delta.
“The goal of the network is to offer a community of Canadian professionals who can share resources and experiences for doing business in China through our WeChat group and monthly events,” said the group’s chairman, Adam Turnbull, via email.
Sounds good eh, but what does membership (which is free by the way) really get you? The answer to that, my hockey-loving friends of the north, is access to a community of over 200 industry-diverse members and invitations to some pretty cool events – the last of which had tasty eats and a seemingly endless stockpile of Moosehead beer.
“Last year we held five events: our inaugural mixer, a startup seminar, the Canada Games, Health and Wellness Fair and Consulate General 101,” said Turnbull. “We also supported the Canada Day party.”
Network organizers told That’s they are currently in the process of developing new partnerships to offer more resources to their membership, which they are expecting to grow.
“As we grow in membership, we will look to moving to other locations in southern China,” stated Turnbull.

The organization's next event is a trade info-session, which will be held March 8 at the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre. See the poster below for more details:
