After a couple weeks of relatively pleasant temperatures, cold weather appears to be cruising into the Pearl River Delta.
Guangzhouers can expect a low of 12 degrees Celsius tomorrow, which will drop one point to 11 degrees on Thursday and Friday, according to The Weather Channel. While tomorrow Guangzhou can anticipate a high of 21 degrees Celsius, Thursday and Friday look set to hit maximum temperatures of 18 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
The chilly air will also be accompanied by wind, with The Weather Channel predicting 26-kilometer-per-hour winds tomorrow, 23-kilometer-per-hour winds Thursday and gusts of 19 kilometers per hour on Friday.
Shenzhen’s forecast looks slightly better for those who detest the cold, with a high of 22 tomorrow and a low of 14 degrees Celsius. Thursday and Friday will see lows of 12 and 13 degrees and highs of 18 and 17 degrees Celsius correspondingly.
Shenzheners can also expect winds similar to those predicted for Guangzhou, with gusts of 23 kilometers per hour on Wednesday, 21 kilometers per hour on Thursday and 19 kilometers per hour on Friday.
Admittedly, there is some variation in these predictions (as there always is), with the Meteorological Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality predicting a low of between 10 and and 11 degrees Celsius this Friday and AccuWeather suggesting a low of just over 11.5 degrees Celsius.
Other parts of Guangdong can expect a similar drop in temperature, with Maoming city (southwest of the PRD) expecting the mercury to drop to around 11 degrees Celsius on Friday and Shantou expecting a low of around 12.
Temperatures are predicted to climb across Guangdong over the weekend.
As with all weather forecasts, these forecasts are bound to change in the coming days and hours, so check with your preferred meteorologist (most likely the smart phone you are reading this on) regularly for updates!
