The hunt is on.

Shenzhen police have apparently started up one of their periodic sweeps for illegal e-bikes, this time in Shekou on Hai Chang Lu near the McDonalds and Renren Le, according to reports circulating on WeChat.

Police officers – some in uniform and some in plainclothes – were rounding up the e-bikes and loading them on to a flatbed vehicle, according to photos provided of the scene.

The action was confirmed by Gary Isse of Shekou Daily.

Police are reportedly targeting the intersection of Shekou Old Street, Gongyuan South Jie and Hai Chang Jie.

The below photos were taken around 10.50am today.
