If you haven't made plans for Halloween yet, you're in luck! Below we've compiled all the spooky, sugar- and booze-fueled events that are happening around the holiday this year.
Since there are so many, we've divided them up into three major categories—family-friendly events, food and drink specials and parties. Events in each section start from October 28 and lead up to the day itself.
Family-friendly Events
October 28-30: Kids' Halloween Costume Party
Halloween may not be widely celebrated in the PRC, but at this event your child can at least experience the spirit of the holiday with some creepy, candy-filled fun. The costume parties are targeted towards younger kids, but older ones may also enjoy the activities: face painting, arts and crafts, games and, of course, trick or treating.

October 29-30: Halloween with A Heart for China
This year, you can pay forward some of that holiday cheer by volunteering at either (or both) of A Heart for China's charity events. On the 29th, attendees get to spend quality time with kids, while the event on the 30th involves visiting a nursing home. For both, a RMB50 fee covers transportation, a bottle of water, and a Halloween accessory. Follow the official WeChat account (ID: AHeartForChina) for details.

October 29: Kids' Games at The Snake Pit
The Snake Pit is offering an event that should please kids and grownups alike. For the tykes, there's pumpkin carving and games in the afternoon. For the adults, the Shekou bar promises 'entertainment' after dark.

October 29-31: Halloween Trick or Treat for Kids
Who doesn't like a good treat? There will be plenty of spooky snacks to go around at this family-friendly event, held in the cafe inside the Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen. Waitstaff get into the spirit too with Halloween costumes. With a lucky draw for restaurant/hotel vouchers, there should be plenty of holiday fear (read: cheer) to go around.

October 30: Halloween Children's BBQ
Get ready for an afternoon of laidback Halloween fun at George & Dragon! The little ones are sure to be happy with a set of classic dishes that are easy on the wallet, while adults can get a complimentary drink if they come in costume. There will be some games and contests as well, for both the young and the young at heart.

October 31: Buffet Dinner at the JW Marriott
No need to find a babysitter this Halloween. Instead, you can take the whole family out to a generous buffet dinner at the JW Marriott Hotel. Kids will love the fun lineup of Halloween snacks: witch fingers, bat bites, blood-red beverages and more. There's also a 'pumpkin face giveaway,' which is sure to be a hit.

October 31: Pirates of the Caribbean Night at Four Points by Sheraton
The hotel is serving up a Halloween buffet feast this year, with holiday-themed eats and a selection of drinks for both kids and adults. There'll be games and trivia to keep the whole family entertained. Plus, the view from the terrace is to die for.

Food/Drink Specials
October 28-31: Shark's Halloween Menu
The Shark restaurant in Futian will offer special holiday-themed drinks and eats this year. Offerings include two cocktails, one shooter, pumpkin-flavored snacks and wagyu steak. This limited-edition menu will be available all weekend and, of course, on Halloween.

October 28-31: Halloween Menu at C&G Tapas y Libros
Treat your friend, significant other, or your family to a nice themed dinner at C&G. Come at 4pm on the 30th to see a group of children put on a Halloween play (tickets are an additional RMB50-70).

October 28-30: Cocktails at 'The Raven Apothecary'
Shekou bar A01 is holding a special Halloween event over the weekend and it involves five new holiday-themed cocktails. They're intriguingly named, from 'Blood and Sand' to 'Satan's Whisker.' At RMB50 each, they're also quite reasonable. Savvy drinkers can also dress in a raven-inspired outfit for 10 percent off their bills.

October 28: Halloween at Le Poulet
Its flyer may feature a cartoonish chick, but there's every sign this rotisserie bar takes Halloween seriously. After paying the entry fee, attendees get a "free" pint of beer and some tidbits and games to go with it. And if all else fails, there's always roast chicken.

October 29: Dia de Los Muertos at The Brew
Although it's not a Halloween event, this celebration of the traditional Mexican holiday promises to be just as entertaining. The Brew's rendition of Dia de los Muertos offers up crowd-pleasing tacos and cocktails, plus face painting. If you're looking for an alternative this Halloween weekend, here's a viable option.
October 29, all night; free entry. The Brew Shenzhen.
October 29: Halloween Party at Pancho's
This party gives a tip of the hat to both Halloween and Dia de los Muertos traditions. Attendees can get a free cocktail if they arrive dressed up as La Catrina, the female skeleton who's a major emblem of the Mexican holiday. Partygoers in other outfits can also get some of the holiday love by entering the general costume contest.

October 30: Brazilian Drinks at Latina
Latina's putting a creative twist on the holidays by mashing the spirit of Brazil's Carnival together with Halloween. With alluring drink specials (buy one get one free!) and the restaurant's fun Latin vibe, it's sure to be a good night.

Parties
October 28: Halloween Party at the Tavern
Start the night strong with a free shot at the Tavern (costume-wearers only). The fun continues with music, free Halloween makeup and a costume contest, not to mention a holiday-themed set of food and drinks.

October 28: Halloween Funky Friday
Here's the Halloween take on Baia Burger's regular Funky Friday event. Besides being 100 percent spookier than usual, the party has also been relocated to the relatively new Shekou location. With food and drink specials and a costume contest, we're looking forward to a familiar yet fresh party.

October 28-31: Blu Bamboo's Halloween Party
Blu Bamboo is joining in on the Halloween party madness with what promises to be a alcohol-fueled night out. Not only are they offering free shots on arrival, but also drink specials, plus alcoholic prizes for the winners of the costume contest. Don't forget to come early for a chance to get extra treats!
October 28-31, 8pm-late; free entry. Blu Bamboo Sports Bar.
October 28-29: Halloween Party at X-Ta-Sea
Make sure to dress up for this event, which promises 'sexy costume contests' and 'sinful games.' You may not get to win a cash prize of RMB1600, or bottles of sparkling wine, but you'll at least get a free drink on arrival. Plus access to a joyful, unabashed celebration of Halloween.

October 29: Psycho Ward 3, a Hip Hop Halloween Party
A ticket to this action-packed party gets you a haunted house experience, a set of earbuds and professional Halloween makeup (with an extra charge), not to mention access to three well-stocked bars and live performances all night. Also, you can enter the costume contest for a chance to take home some goodies.

October 29: Zombie Boogie Disco Halloween
This ever-hip Shenzhen jazz bar steps it up for the holiday with funky music all night long. With a VJ on board too, the scene is set for some serious dancing/vibing.

October 29: Viva's Halloween Scream
Coco Park's very own Club Viva presents a Saturday night of Halloween revelry. On top of the usual music, dancing and drinks, clubgoers can also enjoy some nice freebies: giveaways, face painting and 'special Halloween photos.' It's trick or treat, grown-up style.

October 29-31: Terrace Halloween Party
Free makeup, Halloween performances and best costume prizes! Don’t miss this weekend’s Halloween celebration at Terrace.

October 30: Halloween Party at Chill's
This event will start early in the evening and last late into the night. In addition to discounts on craft beers and selected cocktails, free shots offered every hour promise to get partygoers into the spirit of the holiday. There'll also be music, dancing, food and a costume contest.

October 31: Halloween Horror Stories Night
Rediscover the original spirit of the holiday by gathering for some truly ghoulish tales. Bring a story, make one up on the spot or simply sit back and enjoy the hair-raising chills. The registration fee gets you a cocktail and snacks; those who are hungry for more can pre-order dinner for an additional RMB80.

October 31: Magic Halloween Party
Shenzhenair International Hotel is bringing some class to this year's Halloween celebrations. Guests can enjoy a live band and Halloween cocktails, plus enter to win a bottle of red. There's also free face painting and party games. All in all, it's a nice event for a reasonable price.
