August 30: Green Trivia Night

Game rules:

1) Teams must be no less than three people and no more than five people.

2) At least two people from your team must make a dinner reservation between 6.30-8pm

August 31: Family for Italy

A multicolored family of Shenzheners decided to make this charity group to collect money to send to the Italian Red Cross after the earthquake in central Italy. The event will happen this Wednesday in Baia (BBC) Futian at 7pm, where people will collect money via WeChat or cash.

September 2: Pg.lost

The Swedish instrumentalists pg.lost will present their brand-new album Versus to kick-off September. The band built a studio in the woods in Sweden and recorded their most mature studio record to date. Versus may go down in post-rock history books for breaking the genre’s boundaries. Some have called Versus a true post-rock masterpiece, worth a listen for any of the genre’s fans.

September 2-3: See U, Vbar!

September 3: Huun Huur Tu

Huun-Huur-Tu is a musical group from Tuva, a Russian republic situated on the Mongolian border. This legendary band will present Shenzheners with their delightful folk music. The group has fascinated devotees with the phenomenon of throat-singing, in which a single vocalist produces two or even three notes simultaneously, by selectively amplifying harmonics naturally present in their voice.

September 3: Drunken Poets' Night

Take your favorite quill and lie on paper the poems you wish to share with others aficionados on the poem wall. Team up and try to translate Chinese poetry into English. Enjoy an ice-cold glass of absinthe, the favorite alcohol of poets, to quench your thirst after reciting your favorite poem on the open mic. Or you could drown yourself with wine and beer until you feel confident enough to write your own poems!
