Where to Celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day in the PRD

In anticipation of Qixi Festival (also known as Chinese Valentine's Day) on August 9, we have rounded up some of the best date deals in both Guangzhou and Shenzhen. 


Guangzhou:

Arbat Restobar

The team at Arbat Restobar has created a special dinner set for two people in celebration of Chinese Valentine’s Day! The menu features a great variety of choices and showcases all kinds of meat, fish, Russian cakes, pancakes, borsch soup, mors and vodka by Russia’s ‘old formula.’ The meal set is being sold at RMB228, discounted from RMB605.

Aroma Bistro

Enjoy a low-key, relaxing date at Aroma Bistro and dine on a set dinner menu for two people for the discount price of RMB398. Menu highlights include scallop and prawn salad, oven-baked salmon with baby potato, asparagus and sauce gribbiche or wagyu beef short rib, homemade cheese cake and two glasses of wine.

Grappa’s Italian Restaurant

Dine on a Qixi dinner menu for two, featuring an appetizer, soup, main and dessert, for only RMB488. Main course options include Australian steak with truffle mushroom sauce and grilled cod with lobster sauce.

Kiss Bottle

Visit Kiss Bottle for its Valentine-themed set menu: Australia blue mussels with chardonnay, Parma ham seasonal salad, pumpkin soup with scallops, Australian grain-fed rib eye steak with green pepper sauce, tiramisu, panna cotta with homemade cherry sauce and select cocktails and mocktails.

Le Chinois

Smile, blush and kiss at Guangzhou’s only French luxury hotel establishment. Be swept off your feet with Le Chinois’ lychee and melon soup, lobster and Australian beef short rib, complemented by a bottle of wine and a romantic candlelit setting. Bon appetit!

Revolucion Cocktail 

Speed dating alert: come on out to Revolucion Cocktail on the evening of Chinese Valentine's Day and mingle with lonely hearts. Could it be a life-altering night? Reserve your ticket to find out. Tomonoya

Visit Tomonoya, one of our favorite sashimi eateries, this Chinese Valentine’s Day and receive 600 milliliters of delicious German beer for free! All you have to do is show your server that you follow the official That’s PRD WeChat account (ID: Thats_PRD) and you will soon be guzzling back beer free of charge!

Tristan's Calmex Restaurant and Bar

Guangzhou’s premier taco and burrito eatery does it big every week with Taco Tuesdays, and this Qixi Tuesday is no different! Enjoy all-you-can-eat chicken, pork or vegetarian tacos for the bargain price of RMB50 and sip on the ‘love bomber’ cocktail (red absinthe, muddled strawberry and vodka) for only RMB40. Nothing says I love you like endless tacos and blood-red cocktails.

Shenzhen:

Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai

To celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day, the Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai is offering a number of special deals for romantically inclined Shenzheners. The hotel’s Lobby Lounge will offer a special afternoon tea for RMB228 per set (suitable for two people), including two cups of coffee or tea (refillable) and two 'sex on the beach’ cocktails. Open Restaurant will offer a dinner buffet for RMB988 for two people, including one glass of ‘opera’ sparkling rose wine for each guest and free flow of soft drinks (ladies will receive a special gift). Both Sui Xuan and Eden Garden will also be offering deals; call the hotel for more information.

The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen

Celebrate your love with a dinner date at the The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen. Dine on a Valentine’s buffet at Flavorz for RMB688 per person, or indulge in a seven-course set meal at Paletto for RMB2,588 per couple, including two glasses of champagne. If oysters and wine are more your style, head to Curv Bar for a RMB500 special, which includes a ‘love shot,’ six oysters and two glasses of sparkling wine.
