That's PRD takes a look at the best of the week:
March 1: Contact Improvisation Dance Workshop
Contact improvisation is a form of dance improvisation most characteristic of postmodern dance styles. Practiced by two or more people, it’s focused around keeping a physical point of contact while moving freely without music. Join the workshop and learn all about this enigmatic art.
Every Tuesday, 8-9.30pm; RMB20. Rehearsal Studio.
March 1: Moonsorrow Live At Y:Union
Calling their sound ‘epic heathen metal’ to distance themselves from ‘Viking metal’, which is characterized by a lyrical and thematic focus on the Viking age, Finnish pagan metal band Moonsorrow subsumes elements of black metal and folk metal in their music. Rather than happy and danceable, Moonsorrow’s music takes a spiritual note and can be challenging for listeners to fully understand. Founded in 1995, the group released their debut album, Suden Uni, which has more melodic black metal elements than their later releases. Drawing inspiration from Finnish mythology, Moonsorrow’s lyrics sound fabled and poetic. Prepare yourself for a genuinely legendary concert.
Mar 1, 8.30pm; RMB160 presale, RMB200 at the door. B10 Live. See event listing.
March 1: The Planet Noise Tour At Coyote’s Mexican Cantina Shekou
The Planet Noise Tour will be rolling into Coyote's Mexican Cantina Shekou on Tuesday March 1. Organized in conjunction with Top Shelf Asia, Estrella and McCawley’s, the event will feature two great bands (indie rockers The Noise Revival Orchestra and party rock-reggae group Planeta Lem) and a special guest DJ. Pints of Estrella are on special all night for RMB30.
