Hard Bop originated in the 1950s and was further developed as an extension of Bebop or Bop music in the 1970s. Harp Bopp and was saw as a response to Cool Jazz . as it is emotive, raw, hot. It presents a strong driving rhythm, with a heavy backbeat, which sets up a solid rhythmic groove.
Hard pop incorporated incorporated influences from gospel music as well as blue music, especially in saxophone and piano playing. In late 1960s, certain hard pop performers even incorporated the features of foreguard jazz .
Some believed that the origin of the hard bop was due to reflections by black musicians when the jazz environment was dominated by the white cold jazz players, such as Dave Brubeck, who went on the magazine cover of theTimes, as well as Chet Baker.
