For thousands of years, the middle kingdom has been an agricultural civilization, so much so that one cannot know about the real China without going to its rural areas. But as today’s China keeps advancing towards modernization and urbanization, it’s agricultural culture and traditional farming villages are slowly fading from people’s memories. Wu Jianbin, who has been paying close attention to the changes happening throughout the rural areas on the Loess Plateau for over a decade, is trying to preserve this particular part of the Chinese culture in the form of photography.
