Definition and Purpose of Screening
To decide if a child needs a therapy assessment NOT to do the assessment and diagnose the problem within the screening time. Screening is not equivalent to assessment and should not be used in lieu of assessment to initiate therapy.
Clinicians Profile:
Claire Lin is a certified speech-language therapist from Taiwan. She has previously worked in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of Chinese Medical University Hospital of Taiwan. She has experience providing assessment and therapy for children with various diagnoses including developmental delay, articulation disorder, ASD, and dysphagia, as well as parent training and consultations. She is a member of the Taiwan Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She has completed Level 1 of SRJ oral motor training, relationship developmental intervention (RDI) training from the United States, as well as certification of More Than Words training from Hanen Center, Canada. Claire provides speech therapy in Mandarin Chinese.
