American pilot and Chinese passenger die in Anhui light aircraft crash

Two men, one American and one Chinese, died on Sunday in a light aircraft crash in east China's Anhui Province.

According to state media reports, the crash occurred at 12:19pm in Suixi County, Huaibei City. The aircraft crashed within minutes of taking off and caught fire.

Both the American pilot and the Chinese passenger were dead when firefighters reached the scene. The US citizen has not yet been identified, while the Chinese passenger is said to have been from Guangxi.

Local police reported that the plane belonged to the George Heintz Aircraft Manufacturing Co., a US company operating in neighboring Henan Province.
