Shanghai Fight Night is upon us! The brawl goes down on December 6, when amateurs and pros will enter the ring and show us, the encouraging spectators, what they're made of. In the run-up to this night of carnage, we presented our unique questionnaire to the fighters, and here is what they had to say...
James 'The Assassin' Assersohn
Age: 30
Profession: Retail real estate
Nationality: British
Weight: 80 kg
Favorite boxing knock-out:
Favorite quote: The British Special forces' motto which is 'Who dares wins.'
Favorite boxer: Mike Tyson. His power, speed and ferocity was so exciting to watch.
Why are you fighting? I love competitive sports and while being in Shanghai I haven't been able to participate as much as before. Boxing is one of the most testing sports, and requires the combination of physical strength, co-ordination, agility and intelligence.
Toughest part of it all? Fitting the training around my schedule. I travel overseas close to half the time for work and fitting in the workouts is tough.
If you could fight anyone, who would it be? I've always wanted to punch Nicholas Cage in the face for making so many terrible movies.
Best boxing story? Sparring for the first time with someone who was a lot better than me; I got hit by a big right hook twice on the jaw. I had to go to a work dinner afterwards and ended up having to swallow my steak like an anaconda as I couldn't chew properly.
Motivation for Boxing: Learn a new sport.
Benny 'The Beautiful' Boshnack
Age: 30
Profession: Student at Jiaotong University
Nationality: American
Weight: 78 kg
Favorite quote: "There is nothing more deadly or more proficient than a happy fighter" - Mike Tyson
Favorite boxer: Mike Tyson
Why are you fighting? Keeps me on my toes a bit, feel a little more prepared for disaster this way.
What is the toughest part of it all? Consistently doing the same things wrong over and over again.
If you could fight anyone who would it be? I don't want no problems from nobody!
Best boxing story? Well, I don't have many. But last Brawl on the Bund I trained hard, felt good, not overconfident, and they brought in my opponent last minute. He trained for a week and then knocked me out in about 45 seconds. I got up and laughed because there was nothing else I could do.
Motivation for Boxing: Swagger … but if I lose, humility.
