Shanghai Fight Night is upon us! The brawl goes down on December 6, when amateurs and pros will enter the ring and show us, the encouraging spectators, what they're made of. In the run-up to this night of carnage, we presented our unique questionnaire to the fighters, and here is what they had to say...

Favorite quote: If you are a little bit better than others, they will envy you. If you make a huge difference, they can only admire you.
Favorite boxer: Zou Shiming.
Why are you fighting? Boxing is not only a full body workout that makes you build and strengthen muscle, but also helps you develop a strong mind and makes you more powerful. I love the spirit of boxing which tells me not to compromise when faced with difficulties. So I am still fighting.
Toughest part of it all? The hardest thing during fighting is to overcome my own weakness. I have to get over the fear of pain when I see the opponent’s punch coming in a fight, so I keep my eyes focused on the opponent for a better defense.
If you could fight anyone who would it be? Kang Weiwen (my classmate). He is nearly 40, but he is very strong physically and has great speed. He is the first man who made me feel the pain of being punched in the chin. More than one year has passed since I fought with him, and I have been constantly training so hard to prepare for fights. I want to figure out whether there any improvement on my punching power.
Best boxing story? The most interesting boxing story when I watched a live boxing fight for the first time! My classmate Tang joined the fight on behalf of our boxing hall. Although I was not in the fight, I felt like I was. Boxing is more than just a fight: it is a contest for speed and perseverance. I felt the people’s great passion and excitement that night, and I cheered until I was hoarse. Ever since then, I have been addicted to boxing.
Motivation for Boxing: I like a challenge.
