Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...
With football season starting last week, NFL China brings back NFL HOME FIELD for the second year, providing a home base for fans of America's favorite sport across Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou for nine straight weeks. Over 100,000 people attended last year's debut which culminated with University Bowl VI and a visit by legendary quarterback Joe Montana.
This year's edition promises to be even bigger, mixing interactive family friendly activities, on-site clinics and exhibitions by local teams in the nascent American Football League of China (AFLC) including a showdown game between Shanghai's two original football teams, the Warriors and the Nighthawks on September 20.
Each week will feature open flag football clinics and Nike Pro Training Sessions, a high-intensity, bootcamp-style training session open to the public. Kids between 6 and 12 can compete each week in the Punt, Pass & Kick Competition with weekly winners getting a chance to compete in the City Final during University Bowl Weekend in Shanghai on November 23.
// NFL HOME FIELD: Sep 13, 1.30-8.30pm, free entry. Luwan Stadium. Every Saturday until November 22, except Sunday, October 12 and Sunday, November 9. To see more Town Crier! posts, click here
