This morning, some Shanghai residents were awoken by a magnitude 2.0 earthquake centered in Pudong New Area, about 55 kilometers from People’s Square.

The earthquake struck at 1:44am, with authorities confirming the news at 3:04am. Weibo users soon began sharing their experiences, with one claiming that he was shaken awake in his 11th floor apartment. Others reported rattling glass and dogs suddenly barking for over an hour.

Officials have reassured residents that little earthquakes like this occur around the country every day, and as such there is no cause for concern.
