What’s the most important thing children can get from reading?
It gives the children the ability to visit other worlds and other lives and dream!
Proudest literary achievement so far?
When one of my stories called The Journey was set to music and then turned into a theatrical show, which was performed 50 times in Hong Kong for children.
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
My father reading to me at nighttime. He was a wonderful storyteller and gave me the imagination that I now use in my stories.
If you were a storybook character, which one would you be?
I would like to be Robinson Crusoe, as there have been many times in my life that I would have liked the peace and tranquility of a desert island.
Favorite book?
Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.
