The Rémy Cointreau Group, a world leader in the global spirits market, has launched its inaugural sustainability concept bar, DENTREE, created in partnership with Spirits Architects in Shanghai. With Rémy Cointreau's sustainability philosophy at its core, DENTREE will set a new precedent in carbon neutrality operations for the industry, while reaffirming the Group’s confidence and determination to strengthen its presence in the local market.

As Rémy Cointreau's first-ever sustainability concept flagship bar co-created with Spirits Architects, DENTREE offers a variety of drinks and cocktails that pioneer new sustainability concepts in food and beverage besides typical options. Brands from Rémy Cointreau’s diverse portfolio, including Louis XIII, Mount Gay Rum, Rémy Martin Cognac Fine Champagne, Cointreau Liqueur, Bruichladdich Single Malt Whisky, The Botanist Islay Dry Gin and TELMONT Champagne, can all be sampled at DENTREE. Celebrated mixologists will also present DENTREE’s forward-thinking signature cocktails here.
DENTREE isn’t only about high-quality spirits and cocktails. Locally sourced, organic ingredients form the basis of a selection of healthy beverages and snacks, all crafted using low-waste processing methods. Just as coffee and tea sourced from local farms, including Yunnan coffee beans and garnishes grown in DENTREE’s rooftop garden, add local flavors and stories to every menu item, the delicious creative snacks and dishes to share and enjoy are sure to add new tastes and experiences to each guest’ life.

The sustainability concept and initiatives are embedded in every detail of the bar, from its location, decoration and materials to the way in which guests are greeted and served, and the wider network of sustainability-oriented communities that has formed around the bar.
Located in a unique adaptive regenerated development that focuses on sustainable practices and management, DENTREE has minimized the quantity of building materials and has opted for sustainable materials where possible in its own construction as well. Specialist systems have been set up to enhance energy saving, recycling, and resource optimization, including LED lighting, electric system and a software for monitoring food and drink inventory. It is featured with a vibrant rooftop garden that supports the bar’s efforts towards self-sufficiency and sustainability.
As certified by RESET, the world’s leading performance-driven building certification program, the bar is the first in China to be certified Carbon Neutral for construction, which is a powerful recognition of DENTREE’s efforts to advance sustainability. The bar is also targeting Carbon Neutrality in operations, to be granted after the first year of operation. By carefully selecting materials and prioritizing circularity, the bar achieved an embodied carbon footprint that is 29.3% lower than the industry average, with the rest being offset by Chinese Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) credits. The bar also achieved a level of circularity that is 8.3 times better than the baseline, with 39.2% of the bar being realistically recyclable or biodegradable at the end of life.
The opening of DENTREE represents a new exploration in Rémy Cointreau’s business operations and its commitment to engaging with consumers in more diverse ways. The physical experience and integration of sustainability throughout the bar will bring added convenience and enhanced experiences, while closely resonating with consumers to whom sustainability has become an increasingly important cause. DENTREE will grow into a sustainability platform that connects people, nature, and society to expand the concept of sustainability at local, national, and global levels by sharing new trends, ideas, and techniques.
