Celebrate with all things German at Meliá Shanghai Hongqiao's Oktoberfest!

As the world's largest “Volksfest” (German beer and food festival), Oktoberfest has been celebrated for more than 200 years all over the world.

Festivities are held annually in Munich, Bavaria and across Germany, and every year more than six million people from around the world attend this joyous celebration.

Now, you can experience this authentic outdoor German food and beer party under the open skies in the beautiful landscaped garden at Meliá Shanghai Hongqiao. This annual event is a fantastic attraction for families and friends, and it's even kid friendly!

Meliá Shanghai Hongiao is even offering a Panda Adventure Playground, fully equipped with a climbing wall and swings, so the kiddos can stay happy while parents do the same.

There are three distinct seating areas, so guests can choose where they prefer to enjoy the event. First, customary bench seating is ideal for groups who wish to move about freely. Next, round table seating is perfect for families or small groups. Finally, romantic garden seating underneath the trees is good for relaxing.

During Oktoberfest, both guests and employees will be sporting traditional Bavarian clothing and there will be live music performances to further enhance the Bavarian atmosphere during the event.

Delicious German beer in two varieties, Pilsner and Wheat, will be available on free flow, plus red wine and white wine, as well as soft drinks.

On the food fare front, expect a German buffet replete with classic German cold plates, hot dishes, German sausages direct from the BBQ, assorted cheese and cold meat cuts paired with German bread, pretzels and desserts.

Tickets for October 3 are already sold out, but October 4-7 are still available. Make sure to snag yours quickly and not miss out on this beer-tastic opportunity!

For those interested in staying overnight at Meliá Shanghai Hongqiao, promotional packages are on offer, including room and breakfast.
