Here's something a bit different to do on Sunday. The world premiere of photographer, filmmaker and longtime That's collaborator Nicky Almasy's The Lizard's Journey.
The short film portrays an artist (Shanghai jazz scene legend Alec Haavik) who, in the midst of recording his new song, is confronted by a complete creative block. Disoriented, he wanders into the forest, in a quest to discover his purpose, where he becomes transformed into a lizard.
Almasy has also started a Photojournalist Diaries series. You can watch the one on Alec Haavik and The Lizard, and get the background on the film, by clicking right here or scanning the QR code:
The Lizard's Journey will be followed by an interview with Haavik, who will then join his new group for a live soundtrack to the 1926 German silent film classic Faust.
Sun Jan 17, 6.30pm; free. See a listing for LOFAS.
