A tasty time was had by all as Zee-Ai and Hungry Lung's Kitchen presented a chef’s menu on December 2. The dinner was the third of five in our Calorie Challenge, with five chefs in five different restaurants preparing their very own healthy eating menus, with the people’s favorite crowned winner.
The menu was introduced by Lung himself, who was born into a family of chefs in Montreal, and is famed for its global comfort food menu – think eggs benedict from the USA, poutine from Canada, shepherd's pie from the UK, laksa from Southeast Asia. The Calorie Challenge chef's menu included:
Plant-based black pepper nuggets and veggie sticks with red pepper hummus dip
Plant-based meatballs and a duo of mushrooms in pernod cream sauce
Plant-based beef patty and fried egg sandwiched in an English muffin and served with grilled brocollni and roasted tomatoes (with the egg removed for vegans)
Guests were big fans, and marked down their scores in creation/taste, presentation and service categories, while diners won prizes in a lucky draw!
If you have never tried plant-based food before, our Calorie Challenge is the perfect opportunity to change that. Follow us on WeChat to find out about the two final dinners, including the next one at Tomatito on December 17.
