Acqua in the Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai reopened this month with a new look and feel. Open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday and an all-day brunch on Saturday, a more casual vibe is complimented by new contemporary menus crafted by Chef Marco and his team.
And then there is the new Saturday all-day brunch from 11am to 5pm. Amazing value for money, RMB298 gets you an egg and main course, as well as unlimited orders on a choice of 10 appetizers for the full six hours. Add just RMB100 for free-flow sparkling wine, white wine and red wine.
During lunch, you choose your main course, and the appetizers are on Acqua. Menu highlights include the potato gnocchi Norma style or the traditional lasagna. Knowing how busy people are in the city, they promise they will serve you within 45 minutes or lunch is free.
The Specialized Negroni bar offers 10 variations of the Italian classic, with immersion in the Campari world, while dinner features a fantastic pasta trolley, from which you can choose your favorite pasta and have it cooked in any style and with whichever sauce you wish, with over 42 combinations possible.
Pizza also features heavily on the new dinner menu. Meat and fish lovers will be delighted to see a good choice of appetizers and main dishes, including some great sharing choices, such as a whole baked sea bass or the lamb rack in herb crust.
And to round off a delicious meal, Chef Marco has not only been cooking recently; he has also been making his traditional version of limoncello, which all guests will be offered after dinner.
