Florentia Village, China’s leading brand of luxury designer outlets under the Italian real estate development group RDM, has entered into a long-term partnership with Istituto Marangoni, a world-renown fashion and design educational institution. The partnership between these two Italian fashion leaders promises to support the development of Chinese creative talent, inject fresh Chinese perspectives into the global fashion industry, and promote cultural communication between Italy and China.
This partnership focuses on the support of young fashion talent. Florentia Village will provide scholarships to five qualifying Istituto Marangoni post-graduate students who are already a part of the workforce. This contribution underscores Florentia Village’s determination to support the promising young talent that will define the future of fashion.
“As more raw Chinese talent continues to emerge from the local fashion industry, Florentia Village is proud to be supporting skills development and giving young Chinese talent a platform to be successful both domestically and overseas,” said Maurizio Lupi, Managing Director of Florentia Village and RDM Asia. “For centuries, Italian fashion has combined highly-developed craftsmanship with unceasing creativity to become renowned across the world. We’re very excited to be supporting the development of the next generation of world-class talent here in China.”
This promising collaboration between the two Italian companies come on the heels of an exclusive styling workshop in August. In the daylong event, Florentia Village invited Francesco Fioretto, an industry expert and styling guru from Istituto Marangoni Paris, to lend his professional expertise and styling tips to Florentia Village customers.
In the partnership’s latest development, Florentia Village and Istituto Marangoni collaborated on a cutting-edge fashion show that brought together the emerging young Chinese designer brands from alumni of Instituto Marangoni with leading luxury brands, showcasing a synthesis of modern Chinese and Italian perspectives. The exclusive premiere was launched at the 2019 Shanghai Shopping Festival Opening Ceremony, an annual fair held in the city every September. Online, Florentia Village’s e-commerce platform fvoutlet.com hosts five fashion brands created by Instituto Marangoni graduates, giving fashion-lovers the chance to purchase collections from Antifad, Ji Cheng, Oneside Studio, Sisonplay and Xinye Jiang.
Amid great changes and challenges in the industry, this continuing partnership between Florentina Village and Istituto Marangoni demonstrates how established expertise can work to support local talent for the benefit of the entire fashion industry in China. Florentia Village is fully confident that the partnership will support the future of its own businesses, Istituto Marangoni’s programs and students, and the industry worldwide.
