Nov 19: BurgerSuicideClub + TIAN TUAN Live A/V Performance

BurgerSuicideClub, a band, kind of? They have a guitar and instruments, and they also have: props, masks, stage design, elaborately scripted poems, a sound blending abrasive rock and grinding industrial, a distinctively witchy element, an overall killer vibe. Also materializing on the night is TIAN TUAN, a performance project by artists Sandancunren, Xuandi and Xindi. Past TIAN TUAN productions have included: Future Baby, a series of audiovisual performances and installations exploring themes like “life, feminism, and evolution.”

Nov 20: Hatsune's Sake Sensei Dinner

Back by popular demand, Hatsune founder Alan Wong will host this season’s Sake Sensei Dinner Party in Hatsune iapm, on Wednesday, November 20 at 7pm. Alongside a multi-course paired dinner menu, Alan-san will introduce a balanced and diverse range of four to five different types of quality sake including Junmai, Junmai Ginjo and Junmai Daiginjo etc. You'll learn the meticulous process of brewing sake from rice and water while Alan-san teaches you how to smell and taste the subtle flavors. You will walk away able to fully appreciate just how delicate and beautiful sake can be.

Nov 20: Deafheaven

Deafheaven, who have left an undeniable footprint on modern metal, will play Bandai Namco on November 20. Described by Rolling Stone as a “boundary-pushing blend of black metal, shoegaze and post-rock,” Californian post-metal five-piece Deafheaven combine screamo vocals and pounding drums with surprisingly melodic guitars to mesmerising effect. Following on from their critically acclaimed 2018 album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, which featured the Grammy-nominated single ‘Honeycomb,’ the band’s China tour promises to be something very special indeed.

Nov 20: Stone Beer U – Arrogant Consortia

Nov 21: Boomi Screening – The True Cost

It’s about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. Japanese band Yogee New Waves are one of the foremost Japanese bands keeping city pop alive. They head to China for a number of shows, plus appearances at Modern Sky’s Strawberry Festival, on the back of their March release, album BLUEHARLEM.

Nov 23: Run In Blue 5km for Leukemic Children
