The Shanghai International Marathon takes place this Sunday, November 17, which means several streets will be closed off this weekend to make way for the runners. A total of 38,000 runners are expected to compete in the full marathon, 10-kilometer fun run and mini marathon.

Below are detailed road closure times, during which all vehicles — including buses — will be banned. You may have spotted signs around the city already this week indicating when the runners will be coming through.

  • Midnight to 7.45am on Sunday: Suzhou Nan Lu, Beijing Dong Lu, Dianchi Lu, Nanjing Dong Lu, Hankou Lu, Jiujiang Lu (between Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu and Jiangxi Zhong Lu on the Bund)

  • 5-7.45am: Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (between Waibaidu Bridge and Xinkaihe Lu)

  • 5-7am: Jiangxi Zhong Lu (between Fuzhou Lu and Beijing Dong Lu)

  • 6.30-7.45am: Yan’an Gaojia off-ramp at Jiangxi Lu, Yan’an Dong Lu (between Zhonshan Dong Yi Lu and Jiangxi Zhong Lu)
