Oct 18: Say Yes x San Tai Zi: Foodman
Foodman creates music that defies categorizations. There are traces of almost every electronic music genre, from juke, footwork, ambient, house, techno and noise in his music, but those elements are dissected and morphed together then driven to extremes. The noisy technicolor of these diverse musical collages is borne out of his experiments (or accidents) and has titillated, confused and enchanted music obsessives far and wide.
Oct 18, 10pm; RMB80 presale, RMB100 door. All Club. See event listing. Tickets.
Oct 18: Don Club Grand Opening
Flyer courtesy of promoter
Don Club is created by the folks behind L’Atelier and offers a dark, dramatic and intimate atmosphere to spend unforgettable evenings. Mingle on the dancefloor and dance the night away to beats produced by their guest DJ.
Oct 18, 10pm; RMB100. Don Club. See event listing. RSVP: vip@mvpshanghai.com.
Oct 19: Hodge
Flyer courtesy of promoter
Bristol's finest returns! Making techno infused with the heavy bass of dubstep days, Hodge's music is the epitome of the UK city's adventurous dance music scene; its penchant for bass and genre experimentation is present throughout all the twists and turns of his discography. He's the type of producer who puts out dark and banging techno on Berceuse Heroique, before delivering a glittering, largely ambient record for No Corner a few months later. Martin is a chameleon, but he retains a signature handling of bass and melody.
Oct 19, 10pm; RMB50 before 11pm, RMB80 after. Elevator. See event listing.
Oct 19: MasquerArt
Flyer courtesy of promoter
Feeling fancy this spooky season? Forgo your favorite dead presidents mask in favor of something a little more elegant this October. MasquerArt is back for its second year, taking place on October 19 at Fun Bar.

Founded in Norman, Oklahoma in 2010, Broncho’s garage rock music has appeared on TV shows like Girls and Santa Clarita Diet, as well as films like Vacation and the documentary Valley Uprising. Their 2018 release, Bad Behavior, has been described as being more pop-oriented than previous efforts. They've come a long way in their nine years of life, through a record label collapse and endless touring, eventually getting the recognition they deserved after the release of their second album, Just Enough Hip to Be Woman, in 2014.
Oct 19, 8.30pm; RMB150 presale, RMB180 door. Yuyintang Park. See event listing. Tickets.
