These Roads Will Be Closed in Shanghai During the National Day Holiday

Significant portions of Shanghai city center will be closed to motor vehicles during the upcoming National Holiday, Shine reports. 

In Lujiazui, the area surrounded by Baibu Jie, Lujiazuihuan Lu, Shibu Jie and the riverside will be closed to motor vehicles during the holiday, while, west of the river, Liyang Lu, Changzhi Lu, Tiantong Lu, Qufu Lu, Xizang Lu, Beijing Lu, Chengdu Lu, Chongqing Lu, Huaihai Lu, Renmin Lu, Dongmen Lu and the riverside will be closed from 4.30pm until 11.30pm. 

A small section of Huangpu district, near The Bund, will also be closed to non-motor vehicles. The section surrounded by Suzhou Lu, Henan Lu, Renmin Lu, Xinkaihe Lu and the riverside will be closed to all vehicles during the holiday.

In addition, 68 bus lines will be re-routed during the holiday period throughout The Bund and Lujiazui areas in order to ensure that events and activites for the National holiday go off without a hitch. All exits out of Nanjing Dong Lu metro station (Lines 10 and 12) will be closed from October 1-5 from 4.30pm until 11.30pm. 

You might have noticed that Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower have been lit up over the past few days. From September 30 until October 6, from 6-11pm, a number of well-known landmarks will be shining extra bright to celebrate the holiday.
