With the approach of the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE), exhibitors from all over the world are preparing for the event, especially companies in Italy. The event, which will feature all sorts of high-quality jewelry, will be held in November.
With the joint efforts from the Italian National Gold Jewelry Manufacturers Association (Confindustria Federorafi) and Vetiver jewelry, 15 well-known Italian jewelry manufacturers are invited to participate in this year’s China International Import Expo. These brands – which have been around for generations – are known for their exquisite goldsmith skills and outstanding designs. The products come from some of Italy's most iconic high-end jewelry brands, including Giorgio Visconti, Cameo Italiano, Fratelli Bovo, Stella Milano and other famous brands. Items feature 18 caret gold, fashion silver, cameo (shell carving) and more.
At the same time, the Federorafi has negotiated with the Italian Foreign Trade Commission (ICE) to authorize the use of the “Extraordinary Italian Jewelry Icon” during the expo. The Italian jewelry pavilion, which is famous in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Las Vegas, will be launched in Shanghai at this year's CIIE.
On the afternoon of September 20, ‘Extraordinary Italian Jewelry’ held a preview at the Vetiver space on the Hengshan Road. Dozens of guests and partners from the Italian government, industry associations and the media participated in this event.
In an interview with the media, Valentina Petroli, Trade Commissioner of ICE Shanghai, said that Italy will be upgraded as a Guest Country of Honor to attend the CIIE. ICE will fully support Italian enterprises to expand business in China. It is a historical opportunity to showcase outstanding design and craftsmanship to Chinese consumers through the stage of CIIE.
Ivana Ciabatti, President of FEDERORAFI, the National Gold Jewelry Manufacturers Association of Italy, sent a congratulatory letter to the conference.
“I am very happy and proud to announce that Made in Italy jewelry will be present with leading jewelry companies at the second edition of CIIE. China is opening up to imports of quality products thanks to its newly introduced policy of significantly reducing customs duties and this cannot but benefit the best Italian manufacturers, even those which produce unbranded products and SMEs."
Francoise Izaute, on behalf of Federorafi, signed a strategic agreement with Gong Lifeng, the Co-Founder of Vetiver Jewelry, which could help smaller Italian jewelry manufacturers develop in the Chinese market.
Italian jewelry producers have a strong global vision and are really active in major jewelry fairs and markets around the world. They are also keenly aware of the potential of the Chinese market and the value of the Expo as a national commerce project.
Chen Haiyan, Co-Founder of Vetiver, introduced the preview products
“In the coming weeks we will select, along with Vetiver, the companies that will participate in the exhibition and coordinate with ICE Agenzia (the Italian Trade Agency) in ways that will give greater prominence to November’s event,” said Ivana Ciabatti.
