Until Sept 15: The Sukhothai Welcomes Chef Rosarin Sriprathum

The Sukhothai Shanghai welcomes Chef Rosarin Sriprathum from Michelin guide recommended Thai restaurant Celadon at The Sukhothai Bangkok to present her handpicked selections. Fifteen of her authentic recipes will be incorporated into URBAN Café’s menu to satisfy all the gourmands in Shanghai.

Celadon serves up an authentic palette of flavors and spices with meticulous presentations as only a Thai would know. Chef Rosarin tries to keep the traditional recipes and maintains the standard of each dish's original taste. She executes authentic Thai flavors whilst blending avant-garde culinary techniques into her dishes, giving diners an unforgettable gourmet journey.

Sep 3-7: Native Pop-up Bar

We've come to expect some pretty exciting pop-up bars as part of The Ritz Bar & Lounge's Movers & Shakers series, but they've really done it this month. They're bringing in bartenders from Native, a Singaporean cocktail bar featuring innovative drinks showcasing the flavors and ingredients of the region. Rising 34 places in 2018 to No. 13 of the World’s 50 Best Bars, it also won the Highest Climber Award.

Sep 4-5: Franziskaner Oktoberfest

Can you believe it's already Oktoberfest, tickets are nearly sold out and you haven't planned for it at all? If you want to raise your glasses at the real Munich Oktoberfest experience in Shanghai, you better snap up the last tables stat! This year's event has a massive festival tent in true Bavarian style, liter (Maß) beer-glasses, authentic Bavarian food and a live band bringing you the hottest hits to dance to!

Sep 5: The Commune Social & Abel Matos

It's time for the September Social Club, and this month chef Abel Matos (Colca) joins Sergio Moreno and Kim Melvin at Commune Social. Their secret menu is inspired by a trip through the Americas. Seats are limited, so book ASAP.

Sep 5-6: Agung Prabowo Guest Shift

The Old Man (aka the No.1 bar in Asia) is popping up at The Peninsula's Salon de Ning with four iconic cocktails. If you haven't made it to the Hemingway-inspired bar in Hong Kong (or the new Singapore location), and you love cocktails, then you need to make room on your schedule for this. Named for the author's novel, our pick The Sun Also Rises features copra fat-washed applejack, rotovap fresh curry Monkey 47 gin, sweet vermouth, sous-vide pandan leaves and lime kafir.

Sep 6: Pink Boots China Kick-off Meeting

We hear that the future is female when it comes to beer, and Stone Brewing Tap Room is kicking off  China’s first-ever Pink Boots chapter. They will simultaneously release Morganite Boots Double IPA, a floral, fruity, hoppy ale brewed in collaboration between Winnie Hsu (Taihu Brewing Brew Master) and Laura Ulrich (Stone Brewing Small Batch Brewer). All Pink Boots meeting attendees will receive their first Morganite DIPA free and a Pink Boots China T-shirt.

Sep 6: Kanpai Kocktails at Kagen

TGIF! To kick-start the weekend, Kagen x M&M Marketing and Events Agency will be hosting the very first Kanpai Kocktail Nights. Everyone is welcome to come and have fun. There will be a FREE 'kanapes' + discounted deals on 'kocktails' from 6.30-9.30pm.

Sep 7-8: La Maruja Opening FIESTA!

To celebrate the opening of a new tapas restaurante concept in Shanghai, La Maruja is throwing a huge two-day opening fiesta together with all her friends and suppliers! Sep 7: Rosé Revolution 2019

Brought to you by The Flying Winemaker, this day of pink wine returns to Shanghai. Get knowledge on just how good rosé can be at this rooftop tasting festival on The Bund. The Flying Winemaker himself Eddie McDougall and Magnum Wines will be hosting two sessions at 4pm and 5pm. You can sign up when you arrive, but hurry because it is first come first serve.

Sep 8: Heritage Eats Food Festival

Heritage's chef Austin Hu has assembled 21 of Shanghai's top chefs for a festival that explores the food of their cultural heritage. Hu wanted to free his buddies from the constraints of their restaurant's so they could make food he wanted to eat. Things like Hardeep Somal's Indian food, Anna Bautista's Filipino recipes, Ningbo cuisine from Danyi Gao... and that's just a start. Entry is free, and you can get a discount on food tickets if you buy them at Heritage before Sep 7. That will get you an extra RMB100 of credit when purchasing RMB500.

Sep 8: Nourish | Picnic for Life

Sep 9: Shanghai Shake

After months of run-up competitions worldwide, Camus Cognac House is gearing up for the global final of the Shanghai Shake on September 9 at Bar Rouge. 

The family-run business was founded in 1863 and is still in the family after five generations. Their quality cognacs are produced utilizing a patented, bespoke distillation process, and Shanghai Shake was created to showcase the creations of international bartenders inspired by Camus Cognac.
