Originally from New York, CID has garnered attention from industry veterans like Kaskade and Tiesto. Aug 30: Functory 3 Release Party

Since FunctionLab’s third compilation album Functory 3 dropped at the beginning of August, GG Lobster has already come out with an extended version of his EP Punk Rock Karaoke, featuring nine songs. He'll be playing a live set at ALL this Friday, while Guan and LBH will also be putting on a live set, with appearances from XOXO Miro, bela, XHANKONKON and Juan Plus One.

Aug 30: Honey Badger Records

Honey Badger Records, based in Seoul, was founded in 2014 and specializes in creative and forward-thinking dance music. It has signed artists such as Sojeso, DJ Bowlcut, Two Tone Shape, Mignon, Kim Kate and released 16 albums that connect the city with contemporary global electronic dance music culture. To celebrate their 5th anniversary, they start their Asia tour at Dada Shanghai and Beijing, with DJ-producers Mignon and JNS from Seoul.

Aug 30: New Shake City IV: The 90's R&B Concert

Candy colors, Tamagotchis, luxury sedans and '90s R&B. Shanghai's house of funk and soul takes it back to back in the day, with a concert featuring the music from the Neptunes, Janet, Aaliyah and more, from hip hop, soul and new jack swing to Y2K futurism. Singers Courtney Knott and guest artists star, joined by SHAKE's six-piece band, the Shanghai Sheiks. Dress code: Supa Dupa Fly.

Aug 30: Kiefer

Previously hailed as the best kept secret in jazz and alt rap by Bandcamp Daily, LA-based multi-instrumentalist Kiefer’s show in Shanghai might well be the city’s best kept music secret this month. Having previously performed on a track with Kaytranada, as well as providing production for Anderson Paak’s album Oxnard, Kiefer ain’t no one to mess with.

Aug 31: 2019 Eating Music Camp Showcase #1: 'Family & Friends'

One of the most important events in Shanghai music scene this summer, Eating Music Camp’s first late night party will be held at Yona Cafe where Eating Music will imbue the venue with their family-friendly atmosphere. The lineup, of course, is unprecedented, including Wassupski, the boss from Japanese label JAZZY SPORT, Eric Lau, B-side, Cruel Buddhist, Cocoonics, Endy Chen and ollo-MAM.

Aug 31: Dirty Boots Indie Night

The Dirty Boots Indie Night returns to Specters for an evening of danceable indie rock and pop from throughout the ages. They’ll cycle through that indie/modern/dance rock you heard in high school… and… yeah, they’ll play Pulp! A good night for people that know The Strokes came up with that whole YOLO thing.
