Aug 9: DJ Lizzy

DJ Lizzy has performed at various festivals and events all over the Asia, including Singapore F1 Grand Prix 2018, Jungle Music festival and more. In 2017, she became the first female DJ to ever perform at Ultra China in Shanghai and was invited to play at Ultra China again in 2018. She brings the party to Bar Rouge Friday night.

Aug 9: Slipknot Album Release

Head over to your friendly neighborhood metal bar this weekend to catch some Slipknot, as their sixth album, We Are Not Your Kind, drops. Promising blasts of aggression juxtaposed with soft melodies, the much-anticipated release is as good a reason as any to get a bit boozy.

Aug 9: Do Hits

Howie Lee, Jason Hou, Alex Wang and friends arrive in All Club this Friday evening for a night of bass, experimental and club music. Pioneers of China’s bass scene, the folks from Do Hits have moved in sporadic directions, musically, over the years, but still remain some of the most influential artists in China’s growing electronic scene.

Aug 10: Antidote Presents Feloneezy

Feloneezy is a stalwart of the Belgrade dance music scene, drawing influences from an assortment of genres. A versatile DJ who occupies a unique space within the local music scene, he looks set to continue turning heads for years to come. Catch him this weekend at Dada.

Aug 10: Gabber Modus Operandi

SVBKVLT link up with Asian Dope Boys for the first time to bring you Gabber Modus Operandi’s China tour. Gabber Modus Operandi’s new album HOXXXYA is set to drop on August 16, and takes influence from noise, metal and rave cultures coming out of Indonesia.

Aug 10: FallOut pres. Bla5ted (RIDDIM)

Chengdu-based producer Bla5ted has quickly became a talked about name in bass music with his latest EP, Game of Riddim praised by many. There’s no telling what’s in store when Bla5ted makes his Shanghai debut at Fallout.

Aug 10: Helsinki Lambda Club

Japanese rockers Helsinki Lambda Club have had an interesting route so far. Formed in 2013 in Tokyo, they went through a talent show, getting selected as the best artists out of a group of 1,000. They went through some line-up changes and arrive here with a sound that admits homage to acts like The Strokes, Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement.

Aug 10: The Sound of the Native South American & Gansu Sangemao Tribal Soul

What do Gansu province and South America have in common? Well, both have a rich tradition of interesting folk music, as exhibited in this upcoming show. Gansu musician Bone Lhamo Kyap hooks up with Peruvian polymath Ricardo Meza and others for a show unlike any other.

Aug 11: Yourboyfriendsucks

It's been a while since we've seen epic indie rock band Yourboyfriendsucks take to the stage, but the Guangzhou band are coming back together for a brief reunion, with a show this weekend alongside other Canton stalwart Smelly Hoover, as well as Kimberley Road Union and Peach Illusion. If you see one live music show this weekend, it should be this one.
