May 9: CИНТЕЗ/SYNTHESIS

Beginning in the Ukraine and Germany in 2017, this music project is geographically inclined, and their party this weekend is all about the exchange of diversity of sound and culture. DJs Temple Rat and Luna Li will be taking the decks tonight for a Thursday that’ll kick off your weekend right.

May 10: THE CUT Rooftop Friday Party

Bass Station is back at Arkham for another night of heavy hitters. Hailing from Guangzhou, Vesk Green has been making waves in China for years and is making his Shanghai debut this Friday.

May 10: 44KW presents Rina

Known for combining a wide variety of musical styles, such as hip hop, house, R&B and disco, Japanese DJ Rina arrives at 44KW this weekend as part of a smashing line-up that also includes Shanghai artists Deep 19, MIIIA and more.

May 10: Mark Redito

Reppin’ the LGBTQ scene hard, Redito is an LA based producer who’s well worth the watch. He’s worked with Kero Kero Bonito and Willow amongst others, and is known for melding tropical futurism with other rhythmic and jolly sounds.

May 11: Industrial Injection

Inferno’s brought back Industrial Injection for a second time 'round. Expect cold heavy murderous machinaphile industrial music all night long at Shanghai’s most famous metal bar.

Let’s face it, kids, modern life is rubbish. So Dada’ are takin’ us back to a time when Terminators and Gremlins lit up the silver screen, Knightrider was the best show around and things were… like...TOTALLY RAD! They’re throwing a monthly party of ’80s jams, synth, Italo disco and all the nostalgia-inducing tunes you could ask for, so suit up (track suit, that is) and get ready to dance.

May 11: BFC After Party - Jon DaSilva

There’s a crazy party poppin’ off over at the Bund Financial Center, and Celia’s hosting the after shindig. Dasilva’s been making a name for himself since 1987, taking influence from Bowie, dub, reggae and a whole lot more. He’ll have some local support to keep it going all night long.

May 10-12: Beernanza

Beernanza! Get your day party on at this three-day extravaganza dedicated to all things beer. This’ll be the sixth time Bevex organizes Shanghai’s biggest beer festival in the Okura Garden Hotel. It’s a must for fans of the hoppy nectar. There’ll be something like 150 different craft and premium beers from China and the world present, with 45 music groups playing across three live music stages, and a bunch of prizes to win at games and competitions. Plus don’t miss out on the chance to brew your own beer and catch the Bear Olympics, hosted by the giant stuffed bears running around during the event.
