Lifeline Rebrands After 15 Years of Helping People Across China

After over 15 years of providing emotional support helpline services, Lifeline Shanghai is rebranding to change its name to 'Lifeline' to better reflect a wider range of services and the larger community that it now serves across the country.

"We began as a helpline service for the international community of Shanghai in 2004, but we have grown significantly, now providing both a helpline and online chat service for the English speaking community across China. Our community has grown significantly and changed, just as China has changed in the last 15 years," Lifeline Executive Director Coreene Horenko said.

To meet a growing need beyond Shanghai, Lifeline introduced a toll free number in 2018 to ensure that no matter where people live in China, they can reach the anonymous and confidential helpline. The rebrand also recognizes Lifeline’s move into the digital space - Lifeline has provided an online livechat service since 2016, which is accessible through Lifeline’s website or through WeChat.

Lifeline partnered once again with design firm Paper Stone Scissors to develop a new logo, fresh images for outreach materials as well as a suite of WeChat stickers to support those they care about.

"It has been an exciting process to see it come together and to reflect on Lifeline’s development over the past 15 years. We believe Paper Stone Scissors have captured the spirit of the essential services we provide – approachable, confidential, and inclusive," Horenko said.

Lifeline has been providing confidential and anonymous emotional support services for over 15 years. Founded in Shanghai, Lifeline’s services include free 400 821 1215 helpline, online chat, as well as community and corporate presentations, workshops and events such as R U OK? Day. Lifeline is affiliated with Lifeline International.

For immediate support between 10am-10pm everyday, please call Lifeline’s free number 400 821 1215 or use the livechat service through www.lifeline-shanghai.com or WeChat ID: LifelineConnect.
