The multi-talented songwriter, bassist, vocalist and producer has collaborated with artists from Flying Lotus to Kendrick Lamar, bringing his experimental and soulful sensibilities to albums like To Pimp a Butterfly, for which he won a Grammy. The show at Arkham promises to be both whimsical and somber, funny and sad.

To celebrate all the fast cars doing the fast things a lot of times, F1 and Heineken have teamed up to bring you two free days of music over in Xintiandi. Martin Garrix is gonna be there, Rap of China's Wilber Pan'll do a set - it's looking pretty promising. Tickets are first come first serve through the Heineken WeChat account, so click on through if you want to snag 'em.

Jack Tatum and his indie rock outfit Wild Nothing have opted for a more polished sound on their latest album Indigo, taking the dreamy aesthetic that has always defined the band’s music and rendering it in pristine hi-fi. Expect slow, synth-driven choruses and general chill vibes from this 80s invoking call to yesteryear.

Apr 13, 8.30pm, RMB280 pre-sale, RMB360 door. Modern Sky Lab, see event listingbuy tickets.

Apr 13: Gatti and the Gang

Looks like a band of certified criminals have posted up in The McKinnon this week. Cristina Gatti (formerly of Postmodern Jukebox - no joke) will be doin' a set with some of the other rascally residents, so be sure to catch her before the po po do.

Apr 13, 10.30pm, RMB280. The McKinnon Hotel, see event listing.

Apr 16: Talos

One listen to this Irish singer and it’s clear why he’s slated to open for Peter Bjorn & John on their upcoming US tour. Before he plays with the folk pop legends, he’s hitting China for a short stint of soulful ballads. His haunting sound and impressive range is reminiscent of Bon Iver in an eerie and touching arrangement of work that’s sure to move audiences at Yuyintang Park.

Apr 16, 8.30pm, RMB130 pre-sale, RMB160 door. Yuyintang Park, see event listingbuy tickets.
