Feb 26: Masego

With vocals, cello, drums, trumpet, guitar, piano and saxophone under his belt, you could say this 22-year-old musician from Kingston, Jamaica is more than blessed. And hey, that would be fully appropriate considering that’s what his name literally translates to in Tswana. Mixing trap, house and jazz, this show at Arkham sets itself apart from the usual scene and will help you ride the wave of your post-holiday reset.

Feb 27: Chris Botti

The Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer Chris Botti is coming to Shanghai this February for his 2019 China tour. After joining Columbia recordings in 2011, Botti quickly established himself as a versatile musician who masters both jazz and pop music. As an inherent performer, Botti owns the stage with his mesmerizing music and charisma and has attracted multiple big names from the industry to share stage with him, including Sting, Paul Simon and Yo-Yo Ma.

Feb 28: Unravel: Waves

This month, Shanghai’s very own live storytelling platform is partnering up with The Shanghai Literary Review and independent zine collective Shaving in the Dark for a special February edition at Yuyintang Park. The theme? Waves. As always, tickets include a drink.

Feb 28: RnV pres. Spectrum

This night will be all snare, bass and beats from all different forms of music styles that the underground music scene has to offer, including an eclectic mix of Reggae, Dubstep, Jungle and Drum and Bass. Special guest DJs Resinate, Jado and A’vibe 8/8 will be providing these sound waves that will immerse dancers in the wavy atmosphere all night long.

Mar 1: Rob Smith AKA RSD

The Bristol legend, Rob Smith returns with his signature heavy dub reggae/trip hop/jungle sounds. This is a night for fans of Massive Attack, Tricky, Pinch, Addison Groove, and so many others.

Mar 1-2: Bar Rouge Grand Re-Opening

Bar Rouge is back and better than ever for their grand re-opening this weekend. Table bookings encouraged, both nights they'll be puttin' on their standard shenanigans in a brean new glitzed out get up.

Mar 2: The Fish+ Big Fat Football Quiz

Six rounds of questions about 'The Beautiful Game,' with a very special prize to be won. RMB150 gets you the footy quiz, fish & chips and a pint! Mar 2: MONO

This Japanese instrumental band has toured all around the world for 20 years and picked up loads of inspiration on the way. Influenced by classical composers such as Beethoven, as well as noise bands like My Bloody Valentine and Neurosis, the group succeeds in creating an intense and dynamic sound that transcends genres.

Mar 2: Medusa

Celebrate the marvellous Michael's birthday at Dada where she is bringing her legendary butch queens, femme queens and kings of the ball onto the dance-floor to ring in the year of the pig. Expect an ultimate night of sickening realness with special performances from Diamond Lil, Mau Mau and lots of glitter.

Mar 2: M.A.N.D.Y

The dance music powerhouse M.A.N.D.Y., consisting of childhood friends Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer, are consolidating their success in China by performing at Celia for a lively night of mind-blowing techno and house rhythms. Revel in the beats of special supporting acts Emil Chang, Marcos Godoy, Ivan Barbero, Jeff Chong, Cice, Lina K and VJ Ming Ming for the ultimate Saturday night of raving.

Mar 2: Alter. and Alex from Tokyo (Innervision / Berlin)

Get excited about the first weekend of Spring with a night of upbeat and funky tunes played by the renowned and talented Tokyo-raised and Berlin-based DJ, sound designer and music producer Alex From Tokyo.
