Yes, we know the Mansion was supposed to be closed, but it looks like we've got an old fashioned Christmas miracle on our hands. They are throwing a holiday rave party with food, drinks and a diverse line up of guest DJs. This is sure to be a Christmas Eve unlike any other.

This unique, genre-melding Japanese band is coming to town to melt your hearts and make you dance. With their melancholic yet groovy sound that folds 80s synths with indie rock, PAELLAS aim to make fresh tunes with a touch of nostalgia. So head down to Yuyintang Park to spend an unforgettably cool Christmas Eve with these guys and their opening act HOWHY.

Dec 27: Ekram & Ekber

Influenced by the classic, mesmerizing melodies of the Spanish guitar style, guitarist Ekram's repertoire consists of folk songs from his native motherland Xinjiang as well as Gipsy King and jazz tunes. He will be joined on stage by the guitarist Ekber to give you a night of spellbinding musical mastery.

Dec 28: Top 30 Metal Releases 2018 Listening Party

Metal is still alive and kickin' in teeth. In case you missed it, 2018 was actually a bad ass year in terms of new metal records. Much like that smoking kid in elementary school who showed you his step brother's rad collection of music, Inferno is here to show you the top 30 metal releases of the year at their album listening party.

Dec 28: Barbarism Vol. 11

The monthly club night for civilized barbarians. BARBARISM is an escape for those who work hard all week and need to experience rawness and real feelings. Expect dancefloor-filling and boundary-pushing pop and hip hop, forgotten classics, familiar vocals in strange new contexts, and songs you never knew you needed. Starts 10pm. Dec 29: WAVing Music Night

Four different bands representing four different styles will join forces for one hell of a night at VAS Livehouse. The Hong Kong underground music scene remains one of the very best on the continent and this diverse showcase consisting of Maenad & the Ravers, Naked and Lay, Stranded Whale and Manjusaka will lay any remaining doubts to rest.

NTS Radio is ringing in the New Year at one of the city's favorite record shops with a killer line up of local Shanghai favorites. Grab a beer, listen to some of the hottest tracks of the hour and enjoy a perfect finish to the last weekend of the year.

On the last night of the year Bar Rouge is dolling herself up in gold to usher in 2019 with a glamorous, glittering extravaganza. Catch the New Year's Eve Countdown from the best spot on the terrace overlooking the iconic Shanghai skyline, and in your finest golden attire, raise a glass of Moët & Chandon to celebrate new beginnings. To avoid pedestrian traffic regulation on the Bund, be sure to head there before 10.30pm.

Jan 6: Ninagawa Macbeth Screening

Experience the late theater director Yukio Ninagawa’s breathtaking rendition of a Shakespearean classic. By turning Scottish warriors into katana-wielding samurai, and the Highland woods into a mesmerising cherry blossom forest, Ninagawa’s production shows how the universal themes of power, tyranny and guilt fit into any context.
