Dec 11: The Blind Pig Presents Love Actually

If you haven't yet indulged in the traditional December viewing of Love Actually, join The Blind Pig for movie night. When else will you be able to pair such a deliciously cheesy holiday flick with yummy Big Pig nachos, ribs, Armadillo Eggs, garlic fries, margaritas, beers and more. Free entry.

Dec 12: Wine & The City's Maverick Wine Dinner

Wine & The City and South Australia's Maverick Winery are teaming up for a fantastic wine pairing dinner at Waldorf Astoria where they will introduce guests to wines from the Barossa Valley. 

Ronald Brown, owner and winemaker at Maverick Winery, will host this special dinner alongside the Wine & The City team and will share with you inside stories of the challenges it takes to make some of Barossa valley’s best wines. The dinner will be served at Pelham's at Bund 2 at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. The kitchen is known for turning out flavorful and innovative French-inspired haute cuisine from the freshest seasonal ingredients.

Dec 12: Tapas Trip with Finca Torremilanos

Get ready for a fantastic journey through the Ribera de Duero wine region with biodynamic wines from Finca Torremilanos. A curated selection of five wines is matched with delectable tapas by Pirata. This special evening is hosted by the owner and winemaker himself, Vincente Pañalba and the Good Food People. Contact to RSVP. 

Dec 12: Stone Enjoy By 01.01.19 Brüt IPA Release Party

Commemorate this festive season with Stone's latest in their popular Enjoy By IPA series. The long-awaited Enjoy By 01.01.19 Brüt IPA is full of intense hoppiness, subtly sweet maltiness and refreshing hints of peach and tropical fruit. This brew is uber fresh and on tap for a limited time, so make sure to sample some before it's too late.

Dec 12, 15, 19, 22: Carols by Candlelight

Attend Carols by Candlelight at Taste & See Melbournian Bistro for a musical banquet celebrating Christmas. Upon their Christmas buffet table are marvelous dishes ranging from smoked Norwegian salmon and flying fish roe bruschetta to slow roast garden courgette with tomato coulis and aioli. From the mains, choose roast Christmas turkey, Australian black angus roast beef, pan roasted Icelandic halibut fish or truffle mushroom risotto.  Savor the feeling of Christmas while accompanied by beautiful carols.

Dec 13: Cocktail Cinema presents Home Alone

Join Cocktail Cinema as they celebrate this jolly season with an all-time favorite holiday film, Home Alone. They'll be screening this classic with 'spirits' and snacks. Doors open at 8pm and the movie begins promptly at 8.30pm. Your ticket includes three film-inspired cocktails, festive snacks and goodies. Dec 13: Christmas Bingo Night Fever

Dec 13: Volcán English Club Glühwein Latte Tasting

Volcán's popular winter holiday specialty, Glühwein Latte is back! If you haven't yet tried this super creamy latte flavored with spicy, sweet glühwein syrup, you are missing out. Dec 13: Healthy Korean-Chinese Cooking

Guest Korean chef Amy Jang will be joining Kaixin Cooking's regular healthy Chinese cooking class to teach vegan Korean glass noodles. Other recipes include Chinese vegan cauliflower dry pot and braised vegetables.

Dec 13: Champagne Dinner

Champagne enthusiasts, this one's for you. East Meets West Fine Wines (EMW) is hosting an extravagant, Champagne-filled dinner at Seve Italian Restaurant on Thursday. 

The Champagne House of Duval-Leroy was founded 150 years ago in Vertus (Cote des Blancs) and is now one of the last independent family wineries in Champagne. As a result of its exceptional quality and consistency, Duval-Leroy is the most poured Champagne listed in over 200 Michelin-Star restaurants around the world. 

Edouard Duval, the sixth generation of the Champagne house, will present guests with a unique selection of Duval-Leroy Champagne only available at this exclusive dinner. Dishes include Spiny Lobster with Creamy Risotto, Roquefort Fondue, Confit Duck Breast and much more.

Dec 15: UnTour Food Tours' Beer & Bites

Love eating and drinking? This intoxicating tour combines everyone's two favorite things - excellent craft beer & delicious local dishes - with a stroll through the former French Concession. It's the perfect way to spend an afternoon! Dec 15: The Friends of Peddlers XMAS Party

Peddlers Gin invites you to their second annual Christmas party hosted at their Gin Garden bar pop-up at Suitsupply. This is a chance to experience some of their unique cocktails designed especially for the winter months and Christmas. Find out more about this award-winning Chinese craft gin while enjoying drinks and free Sichuan noodles crafted by Le Maison. Guests wearing a Christmas jumper will receive a free cocktail. Dec 15: Soundscape Wuding Lu Party

Ten bars, great food and a whole lot of music are flooding Wuding Lu this Saturday. The set list ranges from Yanran and Altieri to Tbird Love and her dizzying flute playing in a score that reps our fair city's music scene hard. Tickets get you six drinks, so a pretty stellar deal for the bustling bar street.

Wouldn't it be great to eat oysters for a good cause? The Oysterlicious Restaurant Group has made this dream come true. Every year, over three million Chinese children drop out before reaching middle school, with the majority of them being girls. That's why The Plump Oyster, Osteria and C Pearl Pudong are donating RMB10 to Educating Girls of Rural China for every oyster you order – giving back never tasted so good. As of Dec 2, they had sold 3,625 oysters for a total donation of RMB36,260, and the more you slurp, the more they donate.

Every Sat & Sun: Funkadeli x Austin Hu Brunch

Funkadeli has once again partnered up with Chef Austin Hu for a new Italian-inspired brunch menu. Mains include poached eggs with smoked pancetta, spicy chicken diavola, smoked salmon and avocado toast, chicken cotoletta, pumpkin ravioli, and beef tartare. Sides include pumpkin soup, roasted romanesco broccoli, and vegetable crudo. New desserts include a spiced apple cake. If you are feeling crazy add on free-flow starting from RMB128.
