Dec 5: Voision Xi

Singer and multi-talented artist Voision Xi is one to watch in 2019. She's been super active in (and behind the scenes!) in Shanghai music over these last years, from hip hop to jazz and beyond, working with artists like Soulspeak, J-Fever, and now her own project, Little Happiness Group. They just released their debut EP on one of Shanghai's freshest labels, Eating Music. You may have seen Voision perform at JZ Club, Wooden Box, or several music festivals – don't miss her Heyday debut on Wednesday.

Dec 6: Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand are coming! The show is sold out though! Keep an eye on your group chats for late in the game backers out, because this Brit-pop band from Glasgow are sure to put on one hell of a show.

Dec 7: Nulbarich

A ray of sunshine, this J-Pop band will bring a smile to your face on even the coldest of days. In an unconventional twist, with a rotating band, lead singer Jeremy Quartz is the only fixed member. Many of them wear masks so you can focus solely on their sound, not their looks, picking up a range of influences from the likes of Jamiroquai to The Servant.

Dec 7: Naomi Fitch

Longtime star of the Shanghai music scene, Naomi Fitch, performs her final concert at SHAKE (for now, we hope!). As a resident of Cotton Club for two and a half years and one of SHAKE's original singers, she's captivated audiences across the city and directed shows like her legendary Prince and Amy Winehouse tributes. Expect a night of her favorite classic soul tracks with the full band, plus support from the one and only Courtney Knott and Matt Cooper.

Dec 8: Christmas Music at Abbey Road

'Tis the season for carols and holiday jams, so if you're in the mood for a spirited Saturday afternoon, you can head to Abbey Road for some live music. They've got some solid food and drink deals to go with it (like, look at that free-flow situation), so don your ugliest sweater and enjoy.

Dec 8: New York Swing Night

Swing your heart out like you're in the big apple, because Jazz at Lincoln Center is playing tribute to the greats. Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman - all brought to you by the Bria Skonberg Quintet. Cover includes a softdrink and one Monkey47 cocktail.

DaHaHa is dropping their "niu" album with a show hosted by the funny people from Mamahuhu. Alongside psych-rock band Parachutes on Fire, you can expect puns, jams and the potential for a whole lot of laughs.

Dec 8: Blastfemme

This new female-fronted Brazilian disco punk band are plugging their way to Shanghai for a riot of a show. They’re still recording their first album in dialogue with the country’s turbulent political climate, cultivating a message that’s part of the fight for women’s rights. Alongside Dirty Fingers and Aleamazonia, they’ll even have an after party with Brazilian funk, samba and dance floor heat.

Dec 8: Ski Mask The Slump God

The XXL 2018 Freshman class member grew up listening to BUsta Rhymes, Misy Elliot, Wu Tang Clan and Lil Wayne is well known for his collaborations with XXXTentacion. His raps set to heavy bass are intense and angry, and tracks like ‘BUKAKKE’, ‘SUICIDE SEASON’ and ‘GEEKIN’ are featured on his most recent release.

Dec 11: Faux Fighters

Foo Fighters fans rejoice! The Faux Fighters - who you guessed it, are a cover band - are putting on their last show for 2018. And it's free! As a thank you to everyone who's shown their support over the last year, this one's speicifically for the people.

Dec 12: SAFIA

This Aussie indie-electro band takes influence from a range the likes of James Blake to Major Lazer. Having taken the stage at this year's Congrete and Grass, they're back again for another round and a full on China tour.
