It may only be November, but the schools in Shanghai are already getting into the holiday spirit. Here are some of the fun and festive events they have in store for the Shanghai community over the coming weeks. Don’t miss your chance to visit Santa’s Grotto, shop around the markets, sample delicious food and enjoy celebrating the season.

Nov 17: Concordia International School Shanghai

The annual Concordia PSO Christmas Bazaar is just around the corner on Saturday, November 17. Come early for your special photo with Santa, scrumptious holiday cakes, cookies and goodies and fun, festive activities for your children. Save time in your holiday shopping with beautiful fresh ruby-red poinsettias or find the perfect holiday gift from over 150 high-quality vendors, including hand-crafted, hard-to-find presents. At the same time, enjoy a delicious lunch from a variety of restaurants, and enter for your chance to win a raffle prize. A special event to celebrate with family and friends, so mark your calendars.

Nov 23: Wellington College International Shanghai

Don’t miss this year’s Wellington Winter Wonderland Christmas Bazaar. The event is hosted by the Friends of Wellington and features over 100 vendors, arts and crafts, activities for all ages and a chance to have your photo taken with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Entrance is free of charge, and everyone is welcome!

Nov 24: Shanghai Community International School

This holiday season, join the festivities with the SCIS Community at their inaugural SCIS Winter Carnival hosted at the Hongqiao Main Campus. They have partnered with the Community Center Shanghai (CCS) who will host their annual winter bazaar full of great holiday shopping, delicious foods and warming winter drinks. SCIS will provide the fun, including games, activities and entertainment for the entire family, with a few winter surprises you won’t want to miss. Admission is free, and all family and friends of SCIS are invited to join them for a day of fun. Other activities include gingerbread house decoration, robot games, face painting, fingernail art, train ride, ice-skating (bring your own skates), entertainment and much more!

Nov 30: YCIS Pudong

On November 30, YCIS Pudong's students, families, and friends will come together at the Century Park Campus for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Organized by the Parents Organisation Pudong (POP) in collaboration with the Performing Arts Department, this will be an outdoor event for the entire family to mark the beginning of Advent. Along with the official lighting of the school’s Christmas tree, there will be plenty of food, gifts and entertainment. The evening will include a number of musical performances by the school choir, student ensembles and bands, as well as the Parent Rock Band. There will also be a Christmas market with stalls selling home-made gifts, décor and jewellery. Children will be able to visit the ‘Secret Santa’ tent where they can buy small gifts for their family and friends, and after all of the entertainment and gift-hunting, there will be some delicious options available for the hungry attendees. All YCIS families and friends are welcome to join for the winter festivities! Be sure to bring your Christmas spirit and a pair of mittens!

Nov 30: YCIS Puxi

Friday, November 30, is the date for YCIS Puxi’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony & Christmas Bazaar. Students, families, and friends will join together at the school’s Gubei Campus to mark the beginning of Advent, and the festive period. The main event will be the official lighting of the school’s Christmas tree, and the Christmas bazaar will include plenty of food, gifts and entertainment for everyone in attendance. YCIS families and friends are all welcome to join for the fun winter festivities.

Dec 1: Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong

One of the most exciting days for the community is the school's Winter Fair – an array of fun and activities for the whole family. Events include musical performances with carols, singing, rock bands and dancing. There are also games, a vendor stalls for shopping and food, and many activities for young and old. The Winter Fair is a significant fundraising event for the school community with the funds going towards college services and supporting valuable Friend of Dulwich events and charity partners.

Dec 1: British International School Shanghai, Puxi

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than the BISS Puxi Christmas Fair? This year BISS Puxi will hold their annual Christmas Fair on on December 1, at BISS Puxi. Fun, food and festivities will be all around the school as the whole BISS Puxi community comes together to celebrate this special time of year.

Dec 6-7: Harrow International School Shanghai

Join Harrow Shanghai at their annual Winter Festival over December 6-7 in the school's sports hall. Enjoy a selection of seasonal music and celebrate the coming of winter with the students of Harrow Shanghai. All families welcome, no tickets required.
