Brace yourselves, as the temperatures are slated to take a nosedive this weekend as a result of a new cold front, reports Shine.

After bidding farewell to a drizzly Monday, the city has caught a break with a streak of cloudy days. Shanghai residents even witnessed a sunny day yesterday with the highest temperature reaching 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). That being said, the fine weather will soon come to an end by a cold front, which is set to arrive on Friday.

Yesterday, Shanghai welcomed shuangjiang, a meteorological term from the Chinese lunar calendar. Translated to 'frost descent,' the term predicts the temperature drop and the appearance of frost in northern China.

As shuangjiang predicts, a cold front will hit the city this Friday. Both light rain and wind are forecast by the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau. The lowest temperature is expected to hit 10 degrees Celsius.

According to The Weather Channel, the effects of the cold front may last until next week, which means we may have a much cooler Halloween this year. If it's any comfort, your weekend Halloween events won't be ruined by rainfall as sunny days are predicted. Here's a glimpse of the weather forecast for the upcoming days:

At the same time, a new super typhoon named Yutu has made its appearance in the Pacific, reports NetEase. Currently, it is moving toward Taiwan at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. Although it's still unknown whether the typhoon will make landfall in China, the National Meteorological Center has stated that it won't affect the country before October 28.
