He did it again. Novak Djokovic officially won his fourth Shanghai Masters title on Sunday, defeating Borna Coric in a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
The 13th-seeded Coric was responsible for defeating Roger Federer in a major upset during the quarterfinals. With his win over Coric in the Final, Djokovic now moves up a spot in the rankings to No. 2, taking the position away from Federer who falls to No. 3.

Djokovic has had a lot of luck playing in China over the years. The Serbian tennis star has reigned victorious in all 11 tournaments he has performed in on the Mainland including four wins in Shanghai and six victories in the Beijing tournament.
“Maybe I was Chinese in the past life,” Djokovic said to the Los Angeles Times. “I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest, with the way I feel here and the way I communicate and have relationship with the people. It's all very, very positive, for more than 10 years that I have been coming to China. There is something special about this place that makes me feel like at home.”
Djokovic had a rough start to the season following his recent elbow surgery. In May, he was ranked No. 22. However, he has been on a winning streak since August and has earned trophies in four major tournaments including Wimbledon, the Cincinnati Masters, the US Open and now the Shanghai Masters, Xinhua reports.
