While the rest of Shanghai succumbs to the pleasures of eating hairy crabs, The Nest is offering an alternative 'hairless' sweet stone crab special. Logan's Punch is staying open for the entire national holiday, and they have some great drink promotions on. Starting with Picklebacks for RMB35, they've also got Jameson Gingers going for RMB50. Oktoberfest is a big deal at Geneva. The traditional German celebration call for a giant feast and this one showcases a 4-5kg suckling pig with side dishes and mini desserts. Free-flow is also an option, so go in hungry, get hammered and arrive home happy.

Self-appointed leaders of the craft beer revolution, BrewDog will be taking over the taps at Roadhouse. The stellar lineup of beer includes three of their headliners (Punk IPA, Jet Black Heart Oatmeal Milk Stout and the sessionable Indie Pale Ale) as well as a grapefruit-infused Elvis Juice American Pale Ale and brand-new seasonal – bright and pithy – Clockwork Tangerine IPA.
