Sep 21: Martin Garrix

This 22-year-old DJ has a net worth of 22 million dollars. That's a million dollars for every year of his life. The DJ and producer has taken every major stage in the last few years - from Ultra to Creamfields to Coachella - and with blowout tracks like "Scared to be Lonely", we can only assume that his set's going to be a good one.

Sep 21: Noisemaker

Bring on the angst with Japanese alternative nu-metal band, Noisemaker. Are they pop-punk? Alt-rock? Is that a hint of hip-hop I hear? It's a little bit of a lot o' different stuff, and we're about it. So many feels. ANGST.

Sep 21: Tiësto

EDM fans will have a tough choice to make this Friday. Tiësto is a legend, having been making music for over 20 years. He's considered the Godfather of the genre by many, and has worked with artists like Tegan & Sarah, Calvin Harris, Nelly Furtado and a whole lot more. And those girls in the back look like they're having a lot of fun.

Sep 22: Los Crasher

This sleazy glam rock band from Beijing are coming to Yuyintang on their China-wide tour. There may or may not be harmonicas involed. Hard rock. Should be good.

Sep 22: Faded Ghost

Head on over to the West Bund for a waterside performance from prolific Shanghai singer/producer, Faded Ghost. This experimental arm of the artist also known as Chacha will be unlike any other live show you see this month, so if you're even remotely creatively inclined, you'll want to check out Tank's Project Space for a free evening of all the culture.

Sep 22-23: JZ Festival

West Bund is the place to be this weekend! The biggest and bluesiest jazz festival in Shanghai is back again with some impressive names like Branford Marsalis Quartet and The Original Gypsies as part of its diverse and impressive lineup that'll turn any pair of sneakers into dancing shoes. As plenty of family-friendly activities are available, it's a great way for music lovers of any age to spend a day outdoors. Children under 1.3 meters in height are free.
