Sept 11-14: Guest Chef Julien Royer at Calypso

Julien Royer rocked Singapore with Odette. Now the two-Michelin starred chef is in Shanghai to give his take on modern French cuisine at Calypso! Julien's culinary journey has taken him from Polynesia to London, and he came 28th at the World's 50 Best Awards and fifth at Asia's 50 Best Awards this year. Do not miss your encounter with this amazing chef.

Sep 12: That's Shanghai Food & Drink Awards

Shanghai's best and brightest culinary stars will be taking over the Bund-side hotspot Bar Rouge for a night of recognition and networking. You did the voting, so come join your favourite chefs and industry icons in a celebration of all things delicious. There will, of course, be plenty to drink.

Sep 12: Fire and Salt at Osteria

Australian chefs Elijah Holland and Josh Moroney presents a six course dinner, with a focus on some of the best seafood available. Dishes include kingfish ceviche, Icelandic scampl pernod, scalllops and a whole turbot. In addition, complement your dishes with a refreshing Pinot Grigio or bubbly Chandon. Wine and dine to your heart's content.

Sept 12-16: Franziskaner Oktoberfest 2018

Oktoberfest is fast approaching. And you know what that means: lots of beer, meat and parties. If you want to celebrate with the best of 'em, head over to the 2018 Franziskaner Shanghai Oktoberfest on September 12-16. This year you can expect all-you-can-drink beer – duh, this is an Oktoberfest celebration – a three-course Bavarian dinner and live Bavarian music.The whole thing will be hosted in the Big Tent and the German food extraordinnaires at Zeitgeist Bavarian Eatery & Bar are serving up authentic, delicious food for the event.

Sept 13-14: Four Hands Dinner at Taian Table and Umi

Two masters team up to deliver a tour de force in fine dining. Chefs Stefan Stiller of Taian Table and Bjoern Alexander of UMI offers a ten-course meal including abalone with caviar, foie gras, scallops in dashi broth and oeufs en meurette. Additionally, there will be eight wine pairings. Come and enjoy this fusion of Eastern and Western cuisines.

Sep 13: Shanghai Love Tap Takeover at The Hop Project

Shanghai Love Brewing Company is taking over the taps at The Hop Project and bringing their newest pale ales to Dagu Lu. Drinks will flow all night including the brand's pineapple pale ale and coconut IPA. If you are in need of an extra kick, try the coffee IPA. As always the grilled-cheese sandwiches are available for you hungry drinkers. Get buzzed!

Sep 13-19: Viva Mexico at FUNKA del Sur

Celebrate Mexico at FUNKA del Sur. Listen to a mariachi band serenade Mexican   independence while you munch on a taco and sip an Altos margarita. The fragrant agave will bring to mind the desert and the sun. Also, taco and margarita deals are only RMB50.

Sep 15: Stuff Yourself at Sausage Fest

Stuff yourself with meat at Shanghai's First Ever Sausage Fest. Shanghai's best meat vendors will be giving out free samples of glorious kielbasa, chorizo and more. Expect to see The Blind Pig, Liefmans and Meat Masters. Since it is Oktoberfest season, this is the perfect event to attend. Heck, why not dress up as a sausage and show off your enthusiasm?

Sep 15: The Rooster 3rd Anniversary Party

Sep 15: SIP Cocktail Festival 2018

Social Supply is bringing SIP Cocktail Festival back to Shanghai. Come and meet Shanghais top bartenders, get to know the vibrant bar scene, taste drinks of all types and learn about how to make them. If you are hungry, grab some food from Madison Kitchen, Latin Woo, Taco Laoban or Homeslice Pizza. Charlie Andrews from Botanik and Timothee Becqueriaux from Highline will be there to mix your drinks, among others.

Sep 15: Pellegrino Wine Dinner at Va Bene

Enjoy a relaxed wine dinner at Va Bene with Pellegrino. Settle in with an aperitif. Dishes begin with carpaccio with citrus, followed by risotto with saffron and prawns, grilled lamb, ending with a homemade “Zuppa Inglese” ice cream. Everything is guaranteed to be delicious.

Sep 15: Pistolera Mexican Independence Day Party

Sep 16: Mexican Independence Day Brunch

Instead of partying all night – or in addition to – try a special Mexican Independence Day brunch at both Pistolera locations. The brunch fiesta includes nonstop tacos such as al pastor, barbacoa, ribeye steak, spicy adobo carnitas and Baja-style fish – all RMB20 each for the entire day. Sep 16: Mexican Independence Day

El Santo has a full day of music, Mexican food specials and selected cocktails in honor of Mexican Independence Day. Music starts at 8.30pm with the Latin Trio, continues with El Grito at 9.30pm and culminates with DJ Charles & Tonic from 1am.
